Summary of Position:

- Conduct initial clinical evaluations and overall admission process into the OP and MHOP programs.
- Work closely with Care Manager and billing staff to ensure completion of all required documentation for uninsured clients to receive Medical Assistance and works to facilitate quick access to Behavioral Health Special Initiative emergency insurance and ultimately CBH insurance.
- Work closely with clinical team and OP director to manage caseload assignments for staff.
- Provide assessment and treatment services to a limited caseload of clients, including SUD individual and group psychotherapy.
- Thoroughly document client notes in electronic health record.
- Work with an inter-disciplinary integrated care team that includes SUD counselors, mental health therapists, psychiatrists, peer specialists, case managers, and physical health support staff.

**Qualifications**:
ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Master’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Bilingual ability preferred.
- Experience providing assessment and/or clinical services to clients who meet criteria for SUD and SMI diagnoses.
- If the Assessment Specialist is licensed and/or certified, they must meet all necessary requirements to maintain licensure and certification.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Must be a team player, patient, flexible, and strong ability to multi-task.
- Must demonstrate genuine empathy and concern for individuals as
indicated in our corporate vision, mission, and values statements. The Counselor must
adhere to applicable city, county, state, and federal laws and regulations, and CARF
standards.
- Must receive 25 hours of training in addictions or mental health treatment as required by federal, state, and local regulatory entities. At least half of the training will be completed as an in-service at NET.
- Must receive 6 hours of HIV/AIDS training, 4 hours of TB/STD training, and Confidentiality training in state-approved curriculum.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct initial clinical evaluations, which determine level of care placement in outpatient services and additional clinical assessments as appropriate.
- Write up initial clinical evaluations and Initial Recovery Plans.
- Ensure referrals for HLOC and linkages are made for persons evaluated who do not meet level of care requirements for admission.
- Process and submit client documentation for entitlement benefits for clients that are uninsured within 3 days.
- Provide treatment services to a limited caseload of clients, including SUD individual and group psychotherapy.
- Ensure that clients provide urine drug screens at admission.
- Assist with clinical matters as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
