Word of Hope Ministries, Inc.

Summary:
Reports to: The Executive Director

**Responsibilities**:

- Works closely with clients to develop employment plans that fit individual client aptitude, education level, physical ability, and career goals.
- Work closely with WOHM clients to identify and overcome barriers to gaining employment.
- Works closely with the Program Director to generate appropriate employment opportunities for clients.
- Carefully document interactions with clients, with particular attention to employment and income goals.
- Assist clients with obtaining and/or completing necessary documents to submit for possible employment.
- Provides counseling to clients and provides support and feedback on workplace issues.
- Conducts field work including but not limited to visiting clients at worksites.
- Maintains and submits all necessary documents and reports as required by Word of Hope Ministries, Inc., regulatory and funding agency policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Attends staff meetings, trainings, and special sessions, as required.
- Develops and maintains relationships with employers, community services and resources.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources or other related field preferred.
- Two -four years of demonstrated experience in job placement and interviewing job applicants.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

- Work is typically performed in an office environment.

- Incumbents regularly drive to business sites which requires the use of a personal vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

- Physical exertion is not a normal requirement of this job.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

- Knowledge of current labor market trends.
- Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity laws and other local, state, and federal laws pertaining to employment.
- Knowledge of effective training techniques and adult learning theory.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations impacting assigned program.
- Knowledge of community resources for appropriate referrals.
- Skill in effective group facilitation.
- Skill at defusing angry and sometimes hostile clients.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects or to change priorities quickly and frequently.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal daily supervision; as well as work as member of multiple teams when necessary.
- Ability to work with an ethnically and culturally diverse population.
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
