**About us**

The Ventura County Pirates Baseball Club are a summer collegiate wood bat baseball club. We are a 501(c)3 educational charitable non-profit organization. Our goal is to assist graduating high school seniors and current collegiate baseball players advance and further their education through athletics, baseball specifically. The VC Pirates Baseball Club strives to not only improve college baseball players’ abilities on the baseball diamond but to also develop leaders off the field through our baseball job opportunities and internships. Spending the summer with the VC Pirates working in one of our sports related positions or internships can help those interested in advancing in the sports industry.

The Ventura County Pirates Baseball Club, seeks athletic trainer passionate about baseball to oversee all medical issues and emergencies that occur during home and some away games. Athletic Trainers must follow all Department of Health rules and regulations. This position requires attendance at all home games, applicants are expected to work five (5) hours per game. This includes pre-game, in-game and post-game. Start date expected to be June 1, 2024 through July 31, 2024

**Responsibilities**:

- Attend all Pirates home games
- Set up both dugouts prior to the game (and clean up after)
- Make sure the coolers and bottles are clean from the previous use
- Fill the water jugs with ice and water, provide cups and/or water bottles
- Fill a cooler with injury ice
- Set up the athletic training equipment by the home dugout (ex: treatment table, medical kit, etc.)
- Provide basic Wound Care
- Assist with rehabilitation exercises
- Assist with emergency response
- Maintain healthcare privacy and confidentiality.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Athletic Trainer: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

- CPR Certification (required)
- Certified Athletic Trainer (required)
