**REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES**:

- Education & Certification
- Bachelor?s Degree in Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited college is required; Master?s Degree preferred.
- State teaching certification preferred.
- Attain an ACSI 2-year Temporary Certificate within the first year of employment and an ACSI Standard Certificate in your teaching discipline within 3 years of employment.
- Experience:

- Training in Elementary Education and best practices in teaching is required.
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Skills:

- Ability to develop authentic relationships with young adults
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Excellent organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Knowledge of FACTS a plus.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse school grounds and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Display the ability to connect Biblical truth to elementary school students.
- Teach Elementary content and Bible classes utilizing the latest research and best practices.
- Promote student engagement to inspire and encourage progress while supporting and strengthening the learning capabilities of each student.
- Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom as well as instruction while monitoring and managing students? behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules.
- Teach classes assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Administrator/Principal.
- Maintain records by documenting learning accomplishments, attendance, and behavior.
- Establish and adjust course syllabi outlines and objectives by following curriculum guidelines and school goals.
