Primary Responsibilities:
- The Director of Transportation Logistics will be responsible for driving strategic leadership, vision, and operational excellence for the Inbound Transportation team. This role will oversee financials along with managing vendor relationships and leading, mentoring and developing a team. As with all positions at KeHE Distributors, we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Essential Functions:
**DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**_ Strategic Leadership, Vision, and Team Management_**
- Develop and execute a cohesive strategy for Inbound Transportation and brokerage teams in alignment with company goals.
- Continuously optimize transportation and brokerage operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team that fosters a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
**_ Vendor and Relationship Management_**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and other partners.
- Negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure performance and cost management.
**_ Financial Management_**
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and P&L for the departments under your responsibility.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality service.
**_ Operational Excellence_**
- Manage day-to-day operations for inbound transportation to ensure compliance and efficient movement of goods.
- Utilize technology solutions to improve operational visibility and decision-making.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated and seamless operations.
- Maintain effective communication across all levels of the organization.

- Ability to synthesize data and provide clear, concise recommendations.
- Strong relationship management skills and ability to provide guidance to higher management levels internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrate attention to detail and sense of urgency.
- Ability to manage a wide array of tasks simultaneously and often with mínimal direction.
- Ability to transfer information gained through analysis to fact based, action-oriented presentations for delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and relevant technology.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in transportation brokerage and comprehensive knowledge of the logistics industry.
