**MULTI-FAMILY PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Multi-Family Property Accountant Responsibilities and Objectives**
- Prepare all aspects of the financial statement package, including creating and posting journal entries, general ledger review and completion of balance sheet support schedules.
- Ensure financials packages are completed and delivered in a timely and accurate manner to the Senior Vice President, Regional Managers, Property Managers, and clients.
- Monitor and maintain cash balances.
- Resolve all issues and document response to all review comments generated.
- Review variances in financial statements and document explanation for significant items.
- Prepare management fee calculations and ensure related invoices are paid in a timely manner.
- Complete inter-project account reconciliations bi-weekly and follows up on open issues.
- Ensures all debt, real estate tax, sales tax and owner distribution payments are made in a timely manner and internal schedules are maintained.
- Verify bank reconciliation is complete and ensures all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.
- Adhere to internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Verify that budget information has been properly input into the management system.
- Handle client audit requests as needed.
- Assist in the setup and transitions of properties which may include loading beginning balance information, sale pro-ration calculations, and closing entries.
- Decisions made with general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university. In lieu of a BA/BS degree, must have 5 or more years related experience.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software, specifically including extensive experience with Excel.
**Skills and Requirements**
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others.
- Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred.
- Extensive level knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management effectively and sensitively.
- Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret various types of business documents.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to relay technical concerns with adequate detail, quickly and accurately.
- Capability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in English.
- Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, and key track system.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and current auto insurance is required.
- Must comply with all safety requirements.
- Required to complete and successfully pass the _River View Residential_ Fair Housing, Diversity, and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment.
**Scheduling**
- Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working overtime, weekends, and non-traditional holidays.

- Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct.
- Ability to tolerate stressful situations.
- Ability to work under mínimal to moderate supervision.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
