We are currently looking for a** Controller **to fill a key role within our organization due to the planned retirement of our current Controller.

**Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and work directly with a team including an accounting manager, and staff responsible for daily reconciliation of driver deliveries, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, and establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, and improve the accuracy and consistency of reported financial results.
- Manage the monthly financial close, with the goal of shortening the monthly closing process.
- Coordinate all activities with the Company’s outside accounting firm and manage the annual financial audit and other regulatory examinations.
- Work with the CFO in support of FP&A functions, including analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement to help guide the business in support of our corporate strategy.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Conduct routine audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Corporate tax planning in coordination with the Company’s outside accounting firm, and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and filings.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA license in good standing preferred
- Experience working directly for a public accounting firm and experience managing financial audits preferred
- Prior experience as a controller, or assistant controller in a similar or related business a plus
- Experience using financial close automation software, experience using an AS 400 operating system a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ethical behaviors and integrity.
