**PURPOSE OF POSITION**

The Sales Analyst supports the execution of the sales strategy and the pursuit of corporate goals. The Sales analyst’s primary function is to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behaviour to provide recommendations and strategies to drive sales performance.

**Data analysis**: Collecting, organizing, and analysing sales data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
- Utilizing statistical models and software to conduct comprehensive data analysis.
- Segmenting sales data based on various parameters, such as demographics, regions, or customer segments.

**Sales forecasting**: Collaborating with sales managers to forecast future sales based on historical data and market trends.
- Conducting market research and competitor analysis to refine sales forecasts.
- Monitoring forecast accuracy and making adjustments as necessary.

**Reporting**: Creating regular reports and dashboards to communicate sales performance, identify improvement areas, and measure sales strategies' effectiveness.
- Presenting complex data in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand format.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide insights that inform decision-making processes.

**Sales strategy development**: Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop effective sales strategies and tactics.
- Identifying sales process bottlenecks and recommending improvements.
- Guiding pricing strategies, product positioning, and market segmentation.

**Sales performance analysis**: Evaluating the effectiveness of sales initiatives and identifying areas for improvement.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, such as conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and average order value.
- Conducting ad hoc analysis to investigate specific sales-related issues or challenges.

**RESPONSIBILITES**

1. **Data gathering and cleaning**: Collecting and organizing sales data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Conducting data audits to identify and rectify any inconsistencies or errors. Collaborating with IT teams to automate data collection and cleaning processes. **Data analysis and modelling**: Using statistical and predictive techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities. Developing forecasting models to project future sales performance. Creating data visualisations and reports to communicate insights effectively. **Market research and competitor analysis**: Research market trends, customer preferences, and competitor strategies to inform sales strategies. Identifying market gaps and opportunities for product expansion. Monitoring competitors' pricing, promotions, and market positioning. **Sales support**: Assisting sales teams with data-driven insights, product knowledge, and sales tool utilisation. Providing sales representatives with performance reports and recommendations for improvement. Collaborating with the marketing teams to develop sales collateral and materials. **Process improvement**: Identifying areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement within the sales department. Streamlining sales processes, such as lead generation, opportunity management, and pipeline analysis. Implementing tools or systems to facilitate sales data analysis and reporting.
