**Duties**:

- Make repairs, removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering, and insulating defective wiring, controls, connections and fittings, damaged light fixtures, and poorly operating thermostats.
- Install or repair electrical systems, to the construction or maintenance or family housing units, buildings, quarters, offices, or shops.
- Receive work orders, oral instructions, and wiring diagrams that indicate the nature of the repair or installation to be made, the layout and the types of wiring, parts, and equipment installed.
- Locate broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating wiring, fixtures, controls, and equipment through visual check or through use of a small variety of test equipment.

- Federal Wage System employees, WG/WL/WS etc, must satisfactorily complete the appropriate annual Depot Medical Examination
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must obtain and maintain a government operator’s license.

**This position is a TERM position.**
- **This position is a 1 year and 1 day.**:

- **This position may be extended up to a maximum of eight (8) years**.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.- **Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element)**: Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrical Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common electrical installation and repair. I can install and replace wiring, light switches, receptacles and outlet boxes.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- **Physical Effort**: Work requires incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. There is frequent lifting of items weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally items weighing over 20 pounds. Incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding and platforms.
- **Working Conditions**: Work is performed inside and outside which cause the incumbent to be exposed to bad weather. There is exposure to dirt, dust, grease and the possibility of broken bones, electrical burns, cuts and bruises. Wears such safety equipment as glasses, shoes and protective clothing.

**Education**:
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
