**Role Overview**:
The General Manager of Taproom Operations reports directly to the CEO. Accountable for overseeing & managing daily operations of the Taproom, developing and empowering the taproom team to ensure that all of their daily duties are completed on-time and to standards, and always seeking to analyze and understand operations. The General Manager will have a keen focus on developing innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and cultivating a positive environment for everyone that comes to the Taproom at BLACK PLAGUE.

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing scheduled events and ensuring proper staffing to execute on objectives for each week, month, quarter, year, etc based on direction from the Executive leadership team. The General Manager will host meetings to ensure communication is flowing effectively to maintain morale and alignment on expectations. Accountable for general inventory management, including but not limited to draft line cleaning, inventory counts, restocking, cash management, and general cleaning. Responsible for reporting any repairs or maintenance to keep the taproom running smoothly and scheduling necessary maintenance as needed.

**Responsibilities**:
Administrative & Management Duties include:

- Regularly check-in with Taproom team to maintain high morale and engagement
- Address performance issues and determine coaching / mentoring needs to drive improvements - utilizing evaluation rubrics to conduct performance reviews regularly
- Host & lead Taproom management meetings to allow for open communication, problem solving, and fast feedback loops
- Host & support daily huddles
- Host & lead Quarterly 1-1 meetings to capture feedback on a personal level and understand development status to align with strategic company objectives.
- Attend & contribute to monthly management scoreboard review meeting to discuss Taproom successes and failures allowing for innovative problem solving related to strategic goals
- Work closely with Executive Leadership team to develop Quarterly & Annual Objectives and Key Results for Taproom team
- Collect & Analyze Daily, Weekly, & Monthly Sales & Ops Metrics: Review the data to deduce insights and draw a logical conclusion for which improvements are needed to grow sales and increase efficiency
- Propose possible solutions and prepare to test and analyze the outcomes (1-3-1 method)
- Cash Management: Audit cash-on-hand to ensure there is enough cash (small bills & coins) for the week and ensure cash handling accuracy is sufficient during operations.
- Ensure “Bank Runs” are completed to exchange large bills for small bills & coins each week
- Accountable for the tracking and ordering of Taproom Inventory regularly
- Overseeing the tracking and ordering all beer inventory for taprooms
- Accountable for tracking inventory and re-ordering disposable, cleaning, & consumables to restock supplies
- Tracking and ordering all merchandise & apparel for taproom (order requests sent to Merchandise Team)
- Ensuring all internal & customer communications are accurately updated on-time to reflect availability of products and services (Online Beer Menu, Hours of Operations, etc)
- Communicate all policy changes / updates to Taproom team through established communication systems
- Responsible for scheduling of Taproom team and accountable for ensuring shift coverage, approve/deny any time off requests, scheduling conflicts based on events calendar and staffing needs
- Plan monthly shifts based on upcoming events schedule using Shift Scheduling Software
- Standardize operations in the taproom through SOP documentation & checklist revisions
- Generate detailed descriptions of functions within the taproom based on best practices and innovative solutions in the form of documentation

Manage day-to-day activities for taproom operations; ensuring the taproom team has adequate support and tools to perform their duties, using SOP checklists to ensure work is completed on time and to service level standardssuch as:

- Accountable and responsible for ensuring all necessary supplies are ready and available to the Taproom team, delegating restocking as needed
- Manage the cash drawers to ensure that appropriate amount of change is available, performing bank runs as needed and cash handling accuracy is sufficient
- Organize the coldbox inventory (beer kegs and cans) to ensure beer is ready to be served to customers - properly purged and tapped kegs, can cases are stacked and organized in beer fridge
- Understand event plans and communicate with the Taproom team so they can understand how to support execution of events and respond to customer inquiries about “what’s happening in the taproom?”
