**THE FAMILY | **This loving family of three seeks a new nanny to join their team and grow with them throughout the years. The mom is a single mom by choice. She and her eldest daughter welcomed a new addition three months ago. The mom is navigating her journey as a new mother to two children, three and under.

The family values gentle parenting and child-led, progressive philosophies. They want someone who understands child development and why engaging children calmly and consistently is important. They are looking for someone with a few years of experience working simultaneously with an infant and toddler/preschooler. They require someone comfortable working alongside the mom and taking outings together, and someone who excels at working independently. The mom may go back to work in the future but is undecided.

**THE PRESCHOOLER | **She is 3.5 years old and described as an extrovert who loves engagement. She is very happy, playful, and full of energy. Mandarin has been her primary language since birth, and she is slowly learning English. She loves imaginative play, reading, storytelling, adventures, and enjoys age-appropriate engagement.

She attends preschool for half a day and will not have school during the summer months. She will return to preschool in the fall and will likely do a half-day.

There are no known allergies and dietary restrictions.

**THE INFANT | **She is 3 months old and described as an easy-going baby. She is solely formula fed. She spends her days with her mom and the daytime NCS and has an overnight NCS. The daytime NCS stops working with the family at the end of May. The overnight NCS will continue through to the fall.

**THE JOB DETAILS | **Partner with the mom to help with the day-to-day care of the girls. Ability to multitask to help mom, baby, and preschooler during this delicate postpartum

period.

Flexibility is required. The schedule will change as the girls grow. Must be able to accommodate the schedule changes.

Create developmentally age-appropriate activities and crafts for the children. Go to the library, museums, neighborhood walks, etc. Be present with the girls. Cook for the girls and help the infant transition to solids. Potty training the infant when the time comes.

Being comfortable working and partnering with the mom, being a self-starter without being prompted by the mom, and growing with the family throughout the years.

Proactively take care of duties and tasks that directly or indirectly relate to the girls and their care, such as creating activities to engage the girls, washing bottles, sanitizing toys, meal preps, restocking diapers/wipes, etc.

Ability to commit to being long-term with the family. (They want a career nanny.)

Lives local to Pasadena. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a reliable and insured vehicle to get to work and possible on-the-job driving.

Help keep the girls’ rooms tidy and support with the communal areas where possible. Lives a healthy lifestyle. Non-smoker.

Must be open to organizing and keeping the day-to-day flow of the girls' items and home tidy.

The caregiver must be flexible enough to switch between supportive tasks—supporting mom, caring for a newborn, caring for the preschooler, and caring for the home.

Cat friendly - the family has one older cat that mostly hides under the bed. Vaccinations that are required to work with infants - COVID, flu and TDAP

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE | **An experienced, mature nanny with an emotionally attuned, gentle parenting style. They approach childcare in a calm and gentle way and understand child-led, progressive philosophies. They are passionate about making a positive impact on young children.

Comfortable working with the mom every day and going on outings together. Enjoys working in a partnership with a parent.

Has a strong command of English, both verbal and written. A second language is a huge perk but not a requirement.

Active and adopts a healthy lifestyle. A self-starter and has a proactive nature. Reliable and responsible.

**THE SCHEDULE | **Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week guaranteed. Hours are flexible and negotiable. As the girls grow, the schedule will change to accommodate their routines.

Occasional overnights and travel may be requested throughout the years together.

**THE RATE | **$35 per hour. Guaranteed weekly hours. Paid leave.

**THE START DATE| **May/June2024

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
