Our campus includes a large fitness center, a five-mile hiking and biking trail, large indoor and outdoor pools and a baby pool, and the highly regarded Cohn Early Childhood Learning Center. We also offer dozens of group fitness classes, personal training, summer and year-round camps, and a wide range of other activities and programs.

**Position summary**

The event and volunteer manager plays a central role on the development team by recruiting, engaging, and managing volunteers and overseeing the successful execution of major fundraising and “friend-raising” events.

**Essential functions**
- Oversees successful execution of major fundraising events including the Sam Lapidus Montclair Run, the J’la gala, and the Jewish Food and Culture Fest.
- Oversees successful execution of smaller “friend-raiser” events, such as Thursday Family Fun Nights and the Pooch Plunge.
- Secures and coordinates opportunities to increase awareness of the LJCC (fairs, festivals, or involvement with other organizations.)
- Oversees the Junior Board of volunteers.
- Develops and implements a strategy for volunteer recruitment, training, engagement, management, and appreciation.
- Engages actively as a member of the development team, which is responsible for generating funding through donations, sponsorships, grants, and events.
- Explores and builds ways to increase income related to facility rentals.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

**Requirements**:

- 3-5 years’ of experience in large scale event planning.
- Experience implementing best practices in volunteer management.
- Experience in development and implementation of a budget.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to successfully navigate a multi-tasked environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Must be goal-oriented with a commitment to adhering to timelines, deadlines, and benchmarks.
- Ability to self-start and work both independently and in a team setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Other Requirements: Available some evenings and weekends.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
