**Summary of Position with General Responsibilities**:
Final Mile Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for the ownership of the day to day cross dock operations of multiple facilities with an emphasis on continuous development of relationships with Customers, Independent Contractors (ICs), and Updike Associates. The right leader in this role will drive broad adoption and provide unparalleled customer experience. They will develop a strategic and tactical plan that drives our last mile operation vision forward at Updike’s pace of business. They will evolve and scale the organization along with the business. They will lead by example, being just as passionate about operational performance and predictability as they are about all other aspects of the customer experience. With the business growing this rapidly, this leader will not have the luxury of having tunnel-vision for any one area; rather, this individual will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize between focusing on existing versus new customers and between services, operational improvements and excellence.

**Essential Job Functions**:

- Ensure the operation exceeds customer expectations for service and responsiveness
- Manage, motivate and develop direct reports according to company policies and employment laws
- Manage the final mile and cross dock operation, including customer service, labor scheduling, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment and manpower.
- Manage costs, overheads and all factors affecting the profitability performance of the warehouse
- Maintain customer inventories to ensure 100% accuracy always
- Manage and maintain adherence to customer standard operating procedures and organizational guidelines to allow the accurate, timely, and safe handling of goods
- Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the warehouse
- Direct personnel and independent contractors to act in accordance with corporate mission and corporate goals
- Develop space utilization plans to meet cost and service standards
- Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making as required
- Liaise with external agencies and authorities as necessary (fire services, police, health and safety inspectors, etc.)
- Develop and maintain a productive work team through training and professional development
- Create the vision and roadmap with tools and systems that makes traditional final mile delivery possible and realizes our operational strategic vision.
- Perform the supporting research and analysis for your products including gathering raw data and key metrics and turning this data into insightful recommendations for the business
- Define, prioritize, and plan the resources needed for programs/projects to be delivered on time
- Ensure all operations are operating in compliance with DOT and OSHA requirements
- Analyze and drive any network and vendor changes to meet value proposition to customers across all brands.
- Visit customers, Updike locations, and external cross docks as necessary for logistics projects and in order to assure expectations are being met.

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Logistics Management: 5 years
- Owner Operator Management: 5 years
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License
- Forklift Certified
- Flexible Schedule Must be able to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
- Experience working in or with parcel, home delivery, and or courier final mile management.
- Experience within a 3PL (Third Party Logistic or Supply Chain Consulting firm).
- Experience of 5+ years in a leadership role managing carriers with a strong preference for final mile carrier management
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to learn and utilize assorted freight / traffic information and billing systems.
- Understanding of the transportation industry, especially final mile operations.

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Higher education and/or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Effectively communicate in writing and verbally
