The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, opened on October 1, 1940, is known as “America’s First Superhighway” Our mission is to operate a safe, reliable, customer-valued toll road system that supports national mobility and commerce. **Job Purpose and Summary**
This is an entry level cross-functional position primarily responsible for providing support to higher level professionals in one of the various areas of specialization within the Information Technology (IT) department for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC). Work involves participating and assisting with different levels of tasks for the assigned unit. Work is generally performed in a distributed environment under the direct supervision of various managers, supervisors, senior analysts, or higher-level specialists. Work results are reviewed for conformity to operating procedures, overall performance, quality, and effectiveness of services provided.
**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**
Performs necessary departmental documentation, administrative tasks, and internal outreach efforts as needed.
Updates basic Business Processes and Procedures (BPPs) and other documentation to reflect current processes and instructions.
Assists in the requirements gathering, documentation, and implementation of changes to software, networks, and/or systems.
Processes requests for audio files, video files, phone records, and other forensic evidence for both internal and external investigations and right-to-know requests.
Creates basic reports and uses report variants to produce repeatable reports with specific user criteria.
Updates departmental documentation, completes administrative tasks, and assists in internal outreach efforts as needed.
Assists with departmental project/program life cycles as directed, including planning, budgeting, specification, design, installation, deployment, integration, operations, support, testing, policy development, and compliance reporting.
Aids end users on incidents, requests, and support calls.
Manually creates user accounts in PTC systems.
Creates test scripts and performs system testing.
Creates and tracks IT shopping carts.
Performs user access reviews as requested.
Receives, enters, updates, and resolves service desk tickets.
Installs computer hardware and software.
Works closely with internal departments and other areas of IT.
Uses situational awareness to anticipate and prevent accidents.
Performs related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.
Specialized certificates and/or training may be required to be completed within the first 6 (six) months of employment.
