Overview:
Supports the mission of People's Community Clinic by helping assure that dental services are delivered in a manner consistent with PCC’s strong commitment to high quality care and strong patient satisfaction.

**The starting salary range for this position is $64,000 - $68,000.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as the liaison between the dental department, the call center, and the front desk to improve communication around scheduling.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, work processes, and patient care, and work cooperatively with the Dental Services Director to implement these and other quality improvements.
- Lead development of processes and procedures that continually improve patient access and promote maximum use of all PCC resources, including rooms, providers, and support staff.
- Coordinate efforts with providers, the patient services supervisor, and the operations department.
- Identify metrics to measure progress and monitor results.
- Represent the dental department at interdepartmental and external meetings, including professional training, conferences, and community collaborative workgroups.
- Coordinate improvement measures for key metrics and the cadence of the review and improvement cycle with the dental services director and the clinical quality manager.
- Proactively manage daily schedules in coordination with the Dental Services Director. Coordinate with providers to add or convert slots, with the call center to add patients, and with clinical staff to identify recall /pre-call opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling templates, event types, and resource configuration in coordination with the Chief Operations Officer to meet productivity goals and work cooperatively to implement these and other quality improvements.
- Proactively communicate scheduling, coverage, or template issues to the Operations Director and Dental Services Director and recommend possible solutions.
- Manage provider PTO for the dental department to ensure adequate coverage. Develop a clear and consistent PTO policy, communicate the policy to providers, and promote adherence to the guidelines. Review and approve PTO requests and coordinate with the Dental Services Director to prioritize simultaneous requests.
- Schedule department meetings in coordination with the Dental Services Director and maintain communication with the department.
- Organize and edit the dental department Pulse page to keep resources current.
- Review and approve provider (employee and contract) timesheets.
- Conducts and leads Patient Conferences and responds to patient grievances as needed.
- Oversee daily patient scheduling, registration, verified insurance, confirm appointments and orderly workflow for the dental department.
- Oversee order management of dental supplies, materials and instruments
- Collaborate with vendors to schedule dental equipment repairs and maintenance
- Present and discuss treatment plans with associated fees to patients
- Assist with developing and monitoring productivity and financial measures.
- Assure that patient data entry into the computerized system is secure, accurate, and timely.
- Create and update training manual for dental EDR/EPM functions.
- Manage different dental insurances and ensure reimbursement claims are sent with proper documentation.
- Serves as Liaison between the Director of Dental Services and Operations to ensure operational efficiencies
- Work with primary care staff to optimize education and evaluation opportunities in the exam room.
- Train staff on appropriate exam room education and evaluation.
- Work with the analytics team and HIT to ensure comprehensive and easily accessible information.
- Coordinate with primary care staff to focus and maximize referrals for paid dental services.
- Coordinate with oral health vendors to ensure continuity of care.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications:
**Education**: High School diploma/GED required. College degree in a related field preferred

**Experience**:

- Minimum of two years of experience in working in a healthcare setting, preferably a dental clinic
- Minimum of one year of experience supervising staff.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Familiarity with EDR and practice management software
- Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
- Experience with provider scheduling and scheduling templates
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
- Healthcare and nonprofit experience strongly preferred
- Self-starter with ability to accomplish goals with mínimal supervision
- Reflexive listening and strong skills in written/verbal communications
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to helping create a positive working environment, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution
- Computer literacy
