**Essential Duties**
- Assists the research team in designing, coordinating, and conducting policy research in Morrison Institute’s focal areas (e.g., livability, education, human services, health). This includes assisting research analysts in project management and general research needs to ensure timely delivery of data and deliverables. Other duties include identifying and compiling sources of quantitative and qualitative data, merging numerous datasets into a single usable format (e.g., SPSS), cleaning and analyzing data, and synthesizing findings into accessible deliverables for stakeholders.
- The RAA will collaborate with senior researchers on instrument development and quantitative and qualitative data collection efforts. Under supervision, the RAA will analyze and summarize data provided by senior researchers from local, county, state, and federal agencies. The RAA must demonstrate an ability to run preliminary analyses using standard descriptive statistical procedures to identify flaws, errors, inconsistencies, or gaps in data.
- The RAA will assist with literature reviews and identifying relevant prior research, instruments, and data sources as required for projects or research activities. The RA will also help prepare, produce, and present study findings in the form of summary reports and progress briefs, data visualizations, and presentations. The position requires rapport
- and credibility-building with stakeholders, funders, and research partners, including participation in external event or activities as needed.
- Essential Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of applied social science research methodology.
- Knowledge of formats for numeric data and experience in converting and merging numeric data formats.
- Experience in qualitative data collection and analysis, including thematic analysis of interview and focus group data.
- Skill in effective interpersonal and written communication.
- Skill in project management and time management.
- Ability to work in a diversified environment and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Ability to meet project deadlines and stay organized.
- Ability to travel via car to local, off-site locations to collect data when needed.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in a field related to area of assignment AND one year of related experience; OR, Any equivalency combination of education and or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
