**JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY**:
The HSD provides leadership for resident care and the medication program in assisted living and/or memory care neighborhoods under the direction of the Regional Health Services Director, Registered Nurse, and Executive Director, as applicable by State law, to promote the health and wellness of the resident population. This position is responsible for directing each resident's health concerns, including but not limited to resident assessments, medication/pharmacy management, resident activities of daily living, and personal care needs. **QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum one year of experience in senior care or related health programs, preferably in an assisted living or memory care setting.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English for safety and work instruction purposes.
- Must be computer proficient in typing and various programs, including a background in EHR management.
- Subject to a minimum criminal background check.
- Must desire to work with seniors and tolerate behaviors associated with dementia and other aging processes.
- Hold a current unencumbered license in the state the employee resides in as a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
- Hold current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation for resident assessments and community marketing events.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES **The HSD must exhibit the following competencies:

**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Not an exhaustive list)**:
**1. Leadership**:

- Direct and lead the resident care and medication programs in the community.
- Assist the business office manager in completing new hire paperwork, monitor time sheets, and perform staff evaluations per company policy.
- Assist and collaborate with the business office manager on the level of care and ancillary charges for residents to ensure they are being charged appropriately.
- Complete and/or oversee scheduling for caregivers, nurses, and/or medication aides.
- Staff resident care and medication staff appropriately according to state regulations and organizational guidelines for quality resident care.
