The Dallastown Area School District is a premiere school district, located in South Central Pennsylvania. With an annual budget of approximately $125 million dollars, we have an annual enrollment of more than 6,600 students (K-12) across eight (8) school buildings. The high school is located on our secondary campus, which adjoins to our middle school and administration building.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Assists in the development and administration of school programs consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Provides leadership and direction to staff with regard to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning.
- Prepares class schedules, master schedules, and extracurricular activities.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and monitor the latest developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Assists school staff and district program leaders in the development and implementation of instructional programs and teaching practices.
- Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to seek new approaches or strategies to teaching.
- Involves staff in the evaluation of programs and planning of new programs.
- Supervises departments as assigned.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and works with teaching staff to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needs.
- Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees, the proper maintenance of employee personnel files, the administration of collective bargaining agreements, corrective action, and other human resource issues.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Addresses student conduct and attendance matters.
- Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment.
- Assists in the management of budgetary and financial affairs.
- Serves as Principal in the principal's absence.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Pennsylvania State Certification as required:

- School Admin - Principal PK-12 (1115)
- Secondary Principal (1105)
- Related teaching experience preferred
- Completion of all mandated pre-employment documents
