Finance Assistant

Job description
Finance Assistant is a clerical position in the finance department responsible for
the general organization and maintenance of physical office properties and the
support of the accounting/finance operations. You must be knowledgeable with
accounting and finance responsibilities (handling receipts, accounts payable,
account receivable, G/L entries, payroll for staffing agency employees etc.) You
must know how to use QuickBooks and Excel. The Finance Assistant reports to the
Office Manager or as assigned. The Finance Assistant will help with basic filing of
documents and the retrieving of documents that go in employee files that might
be needed to complete financial responsibilities. Other general duties include
keeping the office properties neat and clean at all times, scanning of documents,
receipts to collect them, payroll for our staffing agency employees and other
finance tasks as assigned.
Must have proof of covid vaccination or will be mandated to test every Friday or
Saturday to have results turned in every Monday to the HR department. Also, if
offered the position you will need to present a negative covid test.
Medical benefits are offered after you pass a 90 day probation.

As part of their responsibilities, the Finance Assistant will assist in the following:
- Keeps track of payroll for the staffing agency employees
- Collects receipts of our facility expenses
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- General Ledger Entry
- Collects time sheets for our staffing agency employees
- Hands out the company gas card to employees when they arrive to pick it up
- Uses QuickBooks for financial tasks
- Data entry using excel for financial responsibilities
- Answer phones when HR/Reception is on another line or on lunch
- Provides visitors with information and directs them accordingly when
Reception is on lunch or on the phone
- MUST be able to take direction in regards to daily tasks and must be able to
execute them according to company standards
- Assisting Executives and Office Manager and others as needed
**Requirements**:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferably A.A.
degree
- 2 years relevant experience in an office environment within the finance
department
- minimum 2 year of QuickBooks experience
- Minimum 2 year experience with financial responsibilities
- Able to take direction when given multiple tasks to get completed
- Comfortable working in a team setting to efficiently complete tasks
- Excellent organizational skills and able to multitask
- Strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Exceptional verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Committed to be respectful and courteous with your co-workers
- Committed to providing outstanding service
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in general office equipment, computer skills and technologically
savvy with Word, Excel and QuickBooks
- Good time management, problem-solving and decision making skills
**Salary**: $17.00 - 19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week.
