**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Serves as on-call duty officer as part of a rotating schedule.
- Performs Emergency Operations Center (EOC) duties/positions as assigned.
- Conducts hazard analysis and mitigation planning.
- Reviews and recommends modifications to DuPage County’s and OHSEM's emergency operations plans, procedures, and job aids.
- Develops and updates emergency operations plans which include, but are not limited to, the following: Continuity of Operations (COOP)/Continuity of Government Planning (COG), Evacuation and Sheltering, Donations and Volunteer Management, Debris Management, Damage Assessment, and Resource Management.
- Develops and updates procedures and job aids for the Emergency Operations Center for use in the event of an emergency with the County.
- Assists DuPage County municipalities with comprehensive emergency management plans.
- Coordinates and supports DuPage County’s Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), National Incident Management System (NIMS) training and compliance, employee emergency training, DuPage County exercises and regional exercise coordination.
- Maintains DuPage County emergency management training records.
- Supports Citizen Preparedness Education, Emergency Public Information and Warning, community outreach program activities, and community and volunteer management.
- Serves on committees and acts as a liaison on behalf of the County's OHSEM department as assigned.
- Tracks donation management.

**NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Adjusts work assignment or schedule in the event of an emergency to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities as assigned.
- Depending on assignment, may require emergency management training, licensure or certifications.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned within job classification.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
None.

**REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE**:
Requirements for this position include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field
- One year of experience in the development and coordination of emergency management activities

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license, in good standing.
**A pre-employment background check and writing exercise are required.**

The work will occur in an office and field environment. Emergency operations in both the EOC and in the field will often be conducted under very stressful conditions, and irregular hours. When performing the duties and responsibilities in the field, this position will work in extreme weather conditions and in cramped or confined spaces.
