The Sheriff's Office has requested a **department promotional** certification to fill a Sheriff's Administrative Aide position. **_Only qualified permanent and/or probationary Sheriff's Office employees on the eligible list may be eligible for referral to the department for the advertised position._** This employment list may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, or extra-help (temporary) positions as they occur during the active status of the list. The Civil Service title of this position is Administrative Aide.

In the Sheriff's Office, Administrative Aides provide technical administrative support to other management professionals in areas such as department operations, accounting, budget, and/or human resources administration. They conduct research for a variety of general and specialized programs and projects that require statistical, budget, legislative, and/or program analysis and other similar research, and report on their findings. Currently, the Sheriff's Office is recruiting to fill an Administrative Aide position in the Investigations Bureau.
- Knowledge of Sheriff's Office policies and procedures
- Knowledge of current laws/legislation as they relate to the Concealed Carry Weapons program
- Superb organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
- The aptitude for understanding organizational priorities and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**Education**:Any combination of course work and training that would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, academic course work in public administration, business administration, management, accounting, political science, economics, statistics, English composition, psychology or closely related courses would provide such opportunity.

**Experience**:Work experience that would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, some experience related to general administration, accounting, budgetary analysis, or human resources work including the compilation, tabulation, analysis, and presentation of statistical and narrative written reports would provide such opportunity.

**License**: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including special endorsements, as required by the State of California, may be required depending upon assignment to perform the essential job functions of the position.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
Certain positions may require the ability to speak, read and write fluent Spanish.
