Greater Minnesota Program Director Job Description Summary:
The GM Program Director is responsible for achieving outcomes of all established and pilot programs under ASLIS's awarded grants. The GM Program Director is a creative problem solver with skills in meeting deadlines, organizing information, leading and collaborating with others, documenting work accomplishments, and communicating with stakeholders. ASLIS's Grant programs exist to provide greater access to interpreting services in areas of Minnesota without sufficient supply and build the base of service providers across the State. The ideal candidate will be integral in forming workflows and procedures to accomplish the workplan's goals and outcomes.
This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Organize existing workplan activities into tasks with sufficient details and deadlines.
Direct team members to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
Lead weekly internal team meetings.
Collaborate and communicate with outside vendors and contractors.
Create program framework and propose new programs to meet the needs of the community.
Search through professional networks for resources that could be leveraged to support programs – such as workshop presenters.
Host programs/events outside of business hours (nights or weekends).
Communicate with Deaf Community, stakeholders, and State about grant work.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
High School degree, GED or equivalent.
Knowledge/experience with computers: Windows, Microsoft Office suite.
Strong ethics, a good sense of boundaries, maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of sign language, the interpreting community, and Deaf culture.
Exceptional communication skills (both written and visual).
Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
Valid driver's license and insured vehicle available for business use.
Fluent in ASL.
Preferred Qualifications:
College Degree or equivalent.
Experience running programs, specifically Grant supported programs.
Knowledge of Greater Minnesota communities (example: Bemidji, Duluth, Faribault, Moorhead, Rochester, and St. Cloud).
Knowledge of the profession of sign language interpreting, including industry standards, challenges, and the needs of both interpreters and the communities they serve.
Knowledge/experience with Zoom, Trello, and Cognito Forms.
Understanding of Website development, Social Media, and Video Production.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed:
Proficient with Zoom, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.), Google suite (Drive, Gmail, Sheets, etc). Knowledge of other platforms a plus: Trello, Cognito Forms, SendGrid, Thinkific.
Ability to follow direction and to give direction to others.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Demonstrate ease and proficiency in communication (written, verbal and non-verbal) to effectively communicate with internal team members, as well as external stakeholders such as sign language interpreters and the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing community.
Ability to organize and manage multiple activities while maintaining a high degree of precision.
Demonstrate critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
Work performed remotely. ASLIS maintains an office in Golden Valley, MN. In-person meetings may take place there. Job duties may require occasional travel, and occasional evening or weekend hours.
