STAFF ACCOUNTANT, COSTA VIDA

Costa Vida is looking for a Staff Accountant to lead by example and interact directly with corporate and franchise restaurants. This position has full-time availability and makes a competitive salary plus bonus potential. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance. Costa Vida's headquarters are near Salt Lake City, Utah.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances account ledgers by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies. The Staff Accountant will also assist in general accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This position is responsible for supporting our Costa Vida locations. The Staff Accountant will exercise considerable discretion in judgment, confidentiality, employee information, and financial records. This position will need to possess an important level of organizational and time management skills to support various tasks and deadlines required by the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports month-end and year-end close processes ensure completeness & accuracy
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintains and balances account ledgers by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies
  • Produces error-free accounting reports and presents their results
  • Assists with projects and additional tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS degree in accounting and 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Able to maintain an elevated level of confidentiality
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information, efficiently, thoroughly, and accurately
  • Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and follow through in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member
  • Ability to take initiative rather than waiting for direction
  • Exceptional computer-based skills and expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel (Vlookups and pivot tables), Word, and Outlook
  • Experience in Food & Beverage is a plus
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • $55,000 to $65,000 - depending upon experience
