A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available for a dedicated educator to serve a high school caseload onsite in Chester, PA. This contract position spans a full semester, with an immediate start date and an end date of June 12, 2026. The role requires 37.5 hours per week, supporting high school students with special education needs in an urban school environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver instruction with mastery of special education subject matter, utilizing effective teaching strategies and resource materials. Develop lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards, incorporating formative assessments and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs. Manage classroom behavior proactively, demonstrating strong classroom and behavioral management skills. Collaborate with school staff and utilize resources to support student progress in an urban school district context. Qualifications and Experience: Active Pennsylvania Special Education certification or licensure is required. Bachelors degree is necessary to qualify for an emergency teaching permit if certification is pending. Previous school experience, particularly in an urban setting, is essential. Ability to complete all Pennsylvania clearance requirements prior to employment. Comfort and familiarity with district policies and school culture are important. Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills are crucial for success. Location and Work Environment: Position based onsite at a high school in Chester, PA.
