The Executive Underwriter is responsible for underwriting energy accounts independently within delegated authority, making datadriven accept/decline and pricing decisions for complex or high linesize risks across oil & gas, pipelines, power generation and renewables in North America.

Assess technical exposures using loss histories, engineering reports, production/operational data and modelling; Underwrite property, BI/DSU, thirdparty liability, pollution/environmental, construction/EPC and energyrelated cyber/OT risks.
Maintain senior broker relationships and clearly articulate coverage differences and risk appetite.
Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Engineering, Legal and UW Support; participate in improvement and product development projects.
Mentor junior underwriters and represent the company at industry events.
CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information in understandable written and/or oral directives to other persons in the organization for underwriting or training purposes.
Must demonstrate comprehension of most complex technical underwriting issues and be capable of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows to properly manage or administer those issues.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
