The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Administrative Officer, AFOSI Detachment 306, with comprehensive responsibility for personnel, comptroller, logistics, communications, security, computers, information services functions, and facilities. Responsibilities Provides general administrative support and management services in non-technical areas of concern to the commander. reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary, to eliminate support activity work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, and implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. Provides management oversight and supervision of all communications processes, computers, and information system programs in direct support of all detachment personnel. Maintains multiple networks, to include configuration management; database development and management; user account management; user access, connectivity, and monitoring of required network servers; and application software releases. Has primary responsibility for independently managing the unit's Operations and Maintenance funds budget to include validating and prioritizing the detachment's funding requirements. As the confidential/contingency funds custodian, independently develops the unit's Operations and Maintenance (O&M) budget including the confidential funds (C-Funds) requirements for fiscal year requirements with pecuniary responsibility for funds and administrative responsibility of maintaining an accurate account. Performs administrative review of all correspondence/documents for administration completeness and correctness. Provides guidance and assists Detachment employees with typical office information software applications. Appointed as the unit plans representative on behalf of the Commander. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments as directed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, laws, regulations and policies of mission support multi-disciplines of the investigative services required to protect DoD personnel and assets worldwide. A high degree of analytical skill in identifying the means for, and the problems involved in, obtaining the financial and human resources needed to complete the mission. Knowledge of command structures, missions, and organizational relationships, plus a thorough understanding of the interrelationships between MAJCOMS, Services, DOD agencies, and combatant commands. Knowledge of personal computer equipment, internal computer processes, application and utility programs; a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify system failures, take corrective actions to resume normal operations, and implement procedures to allow for partial use until problems are resolved; the capabilities and limitations, peripheral equipment, word processing and other standard office automation software; web page maintenance; and DoD automated data processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques to provide a substantial range of technical support and assistance to users of personal computers in the unit. Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.
