An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join a specialty retail pharmacy on a contract basis, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent role. This position primarily supports patients with complex medication regimens, often managing 8 to 15 medications daily, requiring a strong knowledge of commonly prescribed retail drugs and excellent patient communication skills.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. Accurately prepare and dispense medications using Pioneer Rx software (training available if needed).
Engage compassionately with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, many with low literacy, focused on chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
Experience in retail or specialty pharmacy settings, especially handling chronic disease patients, is highly preferred.
Knowledge of the top 200-400 retail medications.
Current registration with the PA Board of Pharmacy is required.
Contract role with an initial 13-week duration and possibility for direct hire based on performance.
Work schedule offers a stable Monday through Friday routine without weekend shifts.
