Position: Senior VMware Engineer Location: Irving, TX (Onsite) Job Overview The Senior VMware Engineer leads and supports enterprise-wide infrastructure operations, spanning virtualized environments, networking, storage, and server systems. This role helps design, deploy, and maintain systems for 1,000+ remote offices. The engineer also provides mentorship to team members and acts as a subject-matter expert on infrastructure performance, reliability, and technical standards. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Design & Deployment Plan, design, and implement infrastructure projects for successful rollout. Deploy and configure branch-office network equipment including Wi-Fi APs, switches, servers (physical/virtual), and storage arrays. Participate in architectural reviews ensuring solutions meet supportability and standards. Set up systems for monitoring, central management, and smooth turnover to IT Operations. Technical Leadership & Documentation Mentor and guide network and system engineers. Create technical documentation and architecture governance materials. Develop new standards, processes, and procedures for systems and network operations. Operations & Performance Management Support mid-to-upper tier troubleshooting for complex infrastructure issues. Perform network and system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery operations. Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams on integrated solutions. Manage vendor relationships and escalate issues as needed. Continuously evaluate new technologies for performance and cost efficiency. Field & Remote Office Support Work with field technicians and vendors to support infrastructure across 1,000+ remote locations. Ensure reliable WAN performance and application delivery across the enterprise. Lifecycle & Systems Management Participate in infrastructure lifecycle across development, test, staging, and production environments. Research and implement automation and scalable configurations where possible. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 8+ years in network/system engineering and deployment. 3+ years leading engineering teams. Strong experience supporting virtualized Windows servers . Expertise in routing, switching, SD-WAN, enterprise Wi-Fi , and circuit management. Advanced skills in packet capture, network analysis, and monitoring tools . Strong communication skills (written/verbal). Strong experience with enterprise network architecture and troubleshooting. Preferred Qualifications Scripting experience for automation. Experience with: Aruba Central LogicMonitor VMware vCenter VMware ESXi Advanced Active Directory expertise. Experience with enterprise storage (iSCSI, FCoE). AWS Associate Certification. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Solid foundation in hardware, software, applications, and programming principles. Strong network design, implementation, and maintenance background. Ability to mentor and develop team members. Strategic and long-term problem-solving mindset. Ability to analyze performance reports and recommend actions. Experience with: Disk/cluster sizing NTFS and share permissions MS SQL configuration and load balancing Linux commands (SSH, SCP) Strong understanding of large enterprise WAN environments. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
