Designer to support key program initiatives within a dynamic and technically sophisticated environment. This individual will be responsible for creating innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity. Collaborate with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers to develop and refine design specifications. Assist engineers in defining design standards and configurations. Apply advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques. Provide expert technical consultation across various design initiatives. Prepare complex design layouts, schematics, sketches, and full drawing packages to ASME or equivalent military standards. Perform thorough evaluations of completed designs for producibility, fit, finish, material compatibility, and tolerance appropriateness. Ensure CAD models transition effectively to modeling and simulation platforms. Coordinate closely with systems engineering to meet contractual and functional design requirements. Proficient in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling, including file manipulation. Experience Required: Minimum 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD systems. At least 5 years of hands-on involvement with advanced design concepts. Education: Associate Degree in engineering drafting/design or equivalent training and experience. Additional nine years of related design and drafting experience required.
