The Senior Mechanical Estimator is primarily responsible for the preparation of complete Mechanical (and related) estimates for hard bids, negotiated bids, conceptual budgets, pre-construction proposals and design-build proposals. Responsibilities will include attending pre-bid meetings, preparing scopes of work, calculating complete Mechanical takeoffs, soliciting bids, maintaining subcontractor relationships and following awarded projects through to turnover to Operations. Required Skills: Ability to takeoff HVAC & Plumbing systems using Quote soft, Quote Express software. Cultivate relationships with vendors for material quotes. Organize and manage estimating database. Create Scope of work & contracts for negotiated projects. Understanding job specifications and local codes. Field experiences in HVAC & Plumbing installation a plus. Self-Motivated and team player attitude. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.10+years of estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience with at least 5+ in estimating mechanical systems. Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, Expert knowledge in mechanical systems and the costs associated with these systems. Ability to estimate all types of projects / contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort. Excellent Organizational Skills Demonstrated attention to detail Ability to multi-task and establish priorities Must be goal oriented and a self-starter Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented work environment.
