About the role The Vice President, Controller is a strategic leadership position with broad organizational impact with responsibility for overseeing the companys global accounting operations, supporting internal and external financial reporting and maintaining the effectiveness of the internal control environment. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements, and supports strategic decisionmaking. The Vice President, Controller is instrumental in driving operational excellence, automation, and scalability within the finance function. What youll do Lead the accounting function, including general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets and consolidations. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearend financial close processes and reporting. Support financial reporting, including the preparation of internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP, DK GAAP and SEC regulations, as applicable. Support a strong internal control environment by maintaining and enhancing internal control over financial reporting (ICOFR) over general ledger activities. Provide financial analysis and insights that support strategic business decisions and the longrange planning process. Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit and manage related inquiries and deliverables. Assist in the development of technical accounting guidance and in the implementation of new standards. Lead and develop a highperforming accounting team; promote continuous learning, crosstraining and career development. Evaluate and implement systems and process improvements to streamline operations, enhance reporting capabilities and promote efficient crossfunctional collaboration. Collaborate with FP&A, tax, treasury, legal, and business unit leaders to ensure alignment and effective communication of financial data. Support M&A due diligence and integration efforts as needed Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial leadership roles within the biopharma industry in development and commercial stage public companies that have directly commercialized one or more pharmaceutical products. Public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firm) combined with corporate accounting experience within a public biopharma company preferred. A minimum of three years in a controllership role. Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, DK GAAP (or IFRS), COSO internal control framework, and financial reporting. Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics Business Central, Oracle NetSuite, or similar) and other report writer and/or FP&A software a plus. Ability to lead change, manage complexity, and drive process improvements in a dynamic environment. Monthly travel may be required (up to 20%).
