Vice President ControllerWe are seeking a Vice President Controller for our client, a mission-driven nonprofit in Charlestown, MA that is transforming oral health through research, education, policy, and community partnerships to advance health equity nationwide. Overview: The Vice President, Controller leads enterprise-wide financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial operations. This role ensures the integrity of financial statements, oversees audits and tax processes, and drives continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Compliance:Directs monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all entitiesEnsures GAAP, tax, and regulatory complianceMaintains internal controls and financial statement accuracyAudit & External Reporting:Manages external audits and financial disclosuresOversees tax filings and regulatory reportingSystems & Process Optimization:Leads implementation and enhancement of financial systemsDrives automation and process improvementsTechnical Accounting & Transactions:Handles complex accounting issues and consolidationsApplies advanced accounting principles and benchmarkingStrategic Financial Leadership:Partners with executive leadership to deliver insights and forecastsSupports strategic planning and KPI reportingRisk Management & Analysis:Develops risk mitigation strategiesSynthesizes financial data for decision-makingLeadership & Communication:Builds and leads high-performing teamsCommunicates financial concepts clearly across all levelsFosters cross-functional relationships and stakeholder alignmentRequirements:15+ years of accounting experiencePublic Private experience; CPA preferredLarger, complex company backgroundCorporate exposure (consolidations)Can lead a small teamAny NFP/990 understanding is greatNetSuite helpfulIf interested, please contact John Bresnahan, Sr Vice President at Perm Placement Services, for consideration.
