What you will do: You will own the vision and architecture for products that will enforce and enable secure development at Amazon. You will work closely with your customers, partner teams, and foundational engineering teams to ensure the needs of your customers are clearly understood and effectively addressed. You will collaborate with the senior leadership team to drive key engineering and business decisions that achieve the right outcomes. What we are looking for: Successful candidates for this position must have experience in growing and coaching a highly qualified team of software engineers. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to Think Big to develop a plan and invent mechanisms that scale to meet the broad and diverse needs of teams across Amazon. You will have a strong customer obsession, working to deeply understand the needs of your customers and relentlessly looking to improve their experience and make them more productive. What you will do: You will own the technical vision and architecture for one of ARMOR's core products (MAGIC, UDD, or Sheepdog) that form the security lifecycle from prevention to detection to remediation. You'll work closely with security teams across Amazon, including SDO Cloud Security, AWS Proactive Security, and Business Security Teams, to understand their needs and deliver solutions that scale. Key job responsibilities * Lead and grow multiple engineering teams building highly available, scalable security services * Drive architectural decisions for systems processing millions of events per second * Partner with security teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that improve Amazon's security posture * Develop roadmaps that balance new features with operational excellence * Champion operational excellence and drive continuous improvement in service reliability * Mentor and develop engineers while building a diverse and inclusive team culture A day in the life ARMOR is foundational to Amazon's cloud security, enabling prevention of security violations, detection of non-compliant resources, and automated remediation at scale. The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
