Key job responsibilities Drive technical strategy, design, development, deployment, and operations for new and existing AWS services working alongside Amazon Connect, HealthLake, Comprehend Medical, and HealthScribe. Lead and mentor multiple managers and their teams, including software developers and applied scientists. Collaborate with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to define product vision, roadmap, and create impactful solutions. Build and grow high‑performing teams. Drive architectural decisions for large‑scale, highly available cloud services. Ensure operational excellence and compliance with industry standards. Manage multiple concurrent programs and projects in an intrapreneurial environment. Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and technical excellence. Basic Qualifications 10+ years of engineering experience 5+ years of engineering team management experience 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience Experience partnering with product or program management teams Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment Experience successfully leading and developing a team of direct and indirect reports Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients Experience with AWS or cloud technologies Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem‑solving abilities Experience with data processing, analytics and/or machine learning systems. Passion for applying groundbreaking AI to solve complex business challenges at a global scale. Own problems end‑to‑end, and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you’re missing to get the job done. Preferred Qualifications Experience in developing HIPAA/FDA compliant software Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or PhD Experience building machine learning based platforms. The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
