Hybrid-Remote Flexibility

Defend government entities, agencies, municipalities, and public employees in civil rights litigation
Handle cases involving Section 1983 claims, NJCRA constitutional violations, and government liability
Manage litigation from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
Draft and respond to motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, and qualified immunity defenses
Collaborate with government officials, risk managers, and co-counsel to develop legal strategies and ensure compliance with public sector protocols
Draft legal opinions and provide risk assessments for public entity clients
This is a great opportunity for an attorney with prior experience at the Attorney General’s Office who is looking to transition to private practice
Minimum of 2 years of civil rights litigation experience
Prior experience at the Attorney General’s Office (current or former Deputy Attorney General preferred but not required)
Familiarity with Section 1983 litigation, NJCRA, qualified immunity, and governmental immunities
