A K-12 Special Education Teacher position is available in Detroit, MI, at a vibrant middle and high school focused on art and design. This contract role extends through June 12, 2026, with an immediate start date. The teacher will work in-person to support students with mild to moderate special education needs. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students learning needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments. Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications to help students meet their academic and social goals. Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to optimize learning outcomes. Maintain accurate records and comply with all state regulations regarding special education. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Possession of a valid Michigan Special Education Certification with SPED endorsement. Experience working with students exhibiting mild to moderate special education needs preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to implement evidence-based instructional strategies. Commitment to student-centered education and continuous professional growth. Work Schedule: Full-time, in-person commitment.
