With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's West Coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures. Position Summary:
The RT Clinical Team Leader provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based respiratory care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Board of Respiratory Care and JHACH policy. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by JHACH. The professional practice of Respiratory Therapy at JHACH involves the promotion of a culture of innovation and a commitment to academic growth and professional development. Key Accountabilities:
Utilizes evidence based practice and unit specific competencies to assess the physical condition and respiratory needs of patients and develop a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the interprofessional team
Maintains standards of care by monitoring compliance, observing staff performance, and providing feedback
Achieves positive relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals, collaborating to improve patient care
Contributes to unit schedules, monitors staffing levels, and participates in budget preparation and monitoring to ensure effective resource allocation
Identifies opportunities to enhance the patient experience, streamline care processes, and reduce costs while improving patient satisfaction
Maintains a supportive work environment to retain expert respiratory therapists
Demonstrates expertise in crisis management, prioritizing patient safety and well-being during emergency situations Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Current Florida Respiratory Therapist licensure and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)-approved Registered Respiratory Therapy program
Three years of neonatal/pediatric critical intensive care experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, if working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), obtainable within one year of hire
