An opportunity is available for a certified Special Education Teacher to support elementary-level students within a resource room or self-contained special education classroom setting. This full-time contract position runs through June 11, 2026, with immediate start dates. The assignment offers a chance to be part of a creative learning program designed to meet diverse student needs in a K-6 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with disabilities in both resource room and self-contained classroom settings
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that foster progress across academic and social-emotional domains
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, therapists, and administrators, to provide comprehensive student support
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
Maintain compliance with applicable state education standards and special education regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Education required; Masters or Doctoral degree in Special Education preferred
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement; substitute licenses are not accepted
Experience working with diverse learner populations and various special education program models preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills to manage caseload and collaborate with colleagues
Location:
