JVS is a non-profit, non-sectarian agency. Our mission is to empower individuals from diverse communities to find employment, build careers, and partner with employers to hire, develop, and retain productive workforces. JVS provides a broad range of services, including adult education, skills training, job readiness training, job placement and support, and access to post-secondary education. As the Vice President of Disability and Refugee Services, reporting to the Senior Vice President, you will oversee and manage the various functional areas of both departments. Your responsibilities include ensuring high-quality services are delivered effectively to individuals with disabilities, refugees and other immigrants, and coordinating with other departments and external stakeholders.
Workforce Development Management: collaborate with the Senior Vice President to evaluate employer and client workforce requirements to determine program needs.
Develop and implement education and training programs to help clients pursue desired careers.
Ensure effective communication with program partners, staff, and community members to lead project goals and deliverables.
Develop and execute plans to improve the quality and availability of JVS services for people with intellectual and physical disabilities, refugees, and individuals referred by the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA).
Assist programmatic team leaders in assessing and evaluating individuals for Disability and Refugee Service Programs to determine needs and eligibility for services.
Collaborate internally and externally to forge partnerships with community organizations and government agencies to provide comprehensive and compassionate services.
Disability & Refugee Services Program Oversight: Oversee all Employment Programs in Disability Services & Refugee Services.
Support implementation and delivery of services with excellence and visibility.
Assist senior leaders in managing programs, partnerships, and deliverables, including communication with staff, partners, and the community.
Team Management and Development: provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to staff and program directors within the Disability and Refugee Services department.
Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Reporting and Performance Tracking: create and maintain a system to monitor and measure performance results; provide accurate and timely financial reporting.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as social work, public administration, or workforce development) or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of leadership experience focusing on disability and refugee services is preferred.
Strong knowledge of disability and refugee policies, regulations, and best practices.
Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
Ability to manage and support multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Donor/Funder Relationship Building: experience with grant writing, reporting, and stewardship.
Ethical Conduct: commitment to ethics, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Problem Solving/Analysis: strong ability to define issues, gather data, and develop practical solutions.
Personal Effectiveness/Credibility: build trust, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive issues with tact.
Strategic Thinking: think strategically and develop data-driven, innovative solutions.
Technical Capacity: strong technical background relevant to program delivery and management.
