Location : Main Campus - Smithfield, NC Job Type: Part Time Faculty Job Number: PTBAI-09162025 Department: Business & Applied Technologie Opening Date: 09/16/2025 Recruitment Range: $35.85 - $38.00 Hourly Description Summary Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide a comprehensive educational instructional program committed to quality teaching and successful student achievement. Employees in this classification perform instructional work. Position is responsible for teaching classes and instructing students; preparing lesson plans; preparing tests; grading papers; maintaining accurate administrative records. Performs related work as required. Position is for seated daytime classes with the possibility of additional online teaching. Knowledge & Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Teaches business-related courses and instructs students using a variety of methods Prepares syllabi, lesson plans, lectures, tests, class projects, and case studies Evaluates students' classwork, papers, exams, and projects Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education Minimum : Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in business courses (BUS prefix) or MBA. Education Preferred : MBA or JD (for Business Law) Experience Minimum : Two (2) or more years teaching college-level Business Administration courses or equivalent hands-on experience in business in a variety of administrative functions. Experience Preferred : Two (2) or more years teaching college level Business Administration courses and two or more years hands-on experience in business in a variety of administrative functions.Online teaching experience. Additional Information Language Skills Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic math computations including adding, subtracting, multiplying and averaging all units of measure. Ability to compute fractions, percent and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to use effective critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully an individual should be proficient in a Windows environment and have knowledge of email systems, PowerPoint and Blackboard.
