WAGI is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician?s Assistant (PA-C) to join our gastroenterology medical practice working in our affiliated hospitals.
It is a full-time weekend role.

The Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP), as an independent healthcare provider, is responsible for delivering comprehensive treatment to both well and sick patients while working collaboratively within the gastroenterology health team. Via direct patient care, consultation, research, education, and partnership with other healthcare providers, demonstrates a high level of clinical experience in providing gastroenterology healthcare. Patients and families are educated by the APP on how to encourage wellbeing, avoid health complications, improve current health, and engage in acute and chronic illness. APPs are mentored by practice Physicians; PA-Cs practice within the WA State licensing to include practicing medicine with Physician supervision.

Provide care autonomously to a case load of inpatients in affiliated hospitals
Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history, physical assessment, and pre-procedure workups of patients with acute or chronic gastrointestinal health problems
Provides guidance and health education to patients to promote and maintain health within gastroenterology practice
Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits; The following are requirements for Physician Assistant candidates:
Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the CAHEA
Current WA State Physician Assistant License required
s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as needed
Extensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problems
Clinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferred
The following are requirements for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner candidates:
Current WA State RN License
Current WA State Nurse Practitioner License
s license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as needed
Extensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problems
Clinical experience in gastroenterology preferred or practice relevant area preferred
Maintains professional working relationships with physicians and all staff members
Knowledge of APP authorized Washington State scope of practice
Responsible for personal and professional growth and effective communication
Collaborates with managers for process improvement
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with other team members
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word
Physical Activities and Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computers
Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 15 pounds)
Fine manipulation and ability to hold medical instruments
Individuals in this position will be working within affiliate local hospitals and may also work occasionally within WAGI clinics.

Washington Gastroenterology has an excellent compensation and benefit package that includes the following:

Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance. 04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40 hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire.

WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule. WAGI provides Malpractice Insurance, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) reimbursement budget of $5,400 per two year cycle; A new hire full time employee in this role will be eligible for a Hiring Bonus in the amount of $10,000.

The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.
