JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: OB/GYN Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens (Contract) Location: Socorro, NM Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: 10/16/2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: MondayFriday, 8a5p On-Call Shift Schedule: Night call 5p8a; weekend call Fri 5p Mon 8a; provider on call while working clinic 8a5p Call Type: In-House Call Ratio: As scheduled Call Response Time: 30 minutes COVERAGE DATES Nov 21 Nov 23 (11:00 AM) Nov 27 Dec 2 (AM) Nov 25 Dec 5 Dec 2728 Jan 910 Jan 23 (7:0019:00) Jan 29 Feb 2 (until 8:00a) Feb 12 Feb 19 Feb 26 Mar 1 (AM) PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Obstetric and Gynecologic patients Patient Volume/Census: 810 deliveries per month; Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Low and occasional high-risk pregnancies; C-sections (21%); gynecologic surgeries; routine and complicated OB cases FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: Standard OB/GYN clinic and hospital equipment Specialty Backup Available: 2 OBGYNs, RN, MA; C-section assist available when on call Support Staff Available: RNs, MAs Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 3090 days typical; case logs required Privileging Criteria: Minimum past 12 months€"50 vaginal deliveries, 20 C-sections, 25 gynecologic surgeries (must include at least 5 major abdominal cases) Immunization Requirements: Must meet contagious disease workforce immunity requirements; offsite drug screen required within 14 days of start COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Lodging covered up to $132/day; rental car up to $40/day; malpractice covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Routine vaginal deliveries Complicated vaginal deliveries Cesarean sections Low forceps deliveries Breech and multiple births Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations OB ultrasound performance & interpretation (Level I and II) Surgical gynecology: D&C, hysterectomy, uterine suspension, anterior/posterior repair, tumor resection Incontinence and infertility procedures Repair of bowel injury; appendectomy Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor: tubal ligation, LOA's, chromal tubation Operative/major laparoscopic: ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Eligible for NM medical license Board: BC/BE in OB/GYN; must be certified or actively pursuing ABOG certification (within 5-year limit) DEA: Active DEA required Certifications: BLS/ACLS typically expected Experience: Minimum 1 year; must supply case logs to meet privileging requirements Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR; strong patient-care focus; ability to collaborate with team DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynecologic care Perform routine and complex deliveries, including C-sections Manage low-risk and occasional high-risk pregnancies Conduct gynecologic surgeries aligned with credentialed privileges Collaborate with nursing and provider teams to ensure continuity of care Participate in night and weekend call rotation Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring (NST/CST/FSE) Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds Complete documentation in Epic EMR
