Senior Systems Administrator

DAS is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to become an integral part of our team conducting innovative software development on projects supporting various Naval Combat Training Systems for our customer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. Projects entail execution of scientific, engineering and technical services required for the design, development, integration, test, fleet implementation and maintenance of training simulation systems. This position offers the opportunity to support the network infrastructure, services, and systems associated with software development efforts for leading edge Navy Combat System Training Systems.

*Provide cyber security engineering services for classified and unclassified networks of computer systems running primarily Linux operating systems in support of development networks.
* Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation strategies, validate secure systems, and test security products and systems to detect security weakness.
* Execute and improve processes and procedures to maintain DoD-defined Information Assurance (IA) security posture on systems (CMMC, 800-171, 800-53).
* Collaborate with DevOps engineers to develop/maintain CI/CD environment which includes (Jenkins pipelines, quality and security analysis tools, etc)
* Assist in the creation of technical documentation in support of systems.
* Provide IT support for developers.
*Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree and 8+ years related experience in positions of increasing responsibility; Must *be a US Citizen (without dual citizenship) for clearance regulations. *Active or Inactive US DoD Security Clearance of Secret or higher.
* DoD 8570/8140 IAT level II or III approved baseline certifications.
*Demonstrated expertise in the Linux operating system and CLI.
* Demonstrated significant experience in Linux systems administration, including expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky, or Ubuntu, particularly from an information assurance and remediation perspective.
* Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps or DevSecOps environments to include CI/CD, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, etc.
* Familiarity with enterprise network architectures.
* Experience with automated configuration management and server provisioning via tools such as Ansible.
* Experience with cyber security operations.
* Familiarity with network architectures and administration, network protocols, router/switch configuration (Cisco IOS, etc), and firewall operations
*Experience with scripting/programming skills for automation in Bash and Python.
* Experience managing and maintaining Linux repositories.
* Experience with automated network and system monitoring via security tools such as OpenSCAP, SCC, STIGviewer, and Nessus.
* Remote work is not possible due to the nature of these projects\*\*\**
* Successful candidate will primarily work from our facilities in McLean, VA.
* There may be occasions when employees will temporarily work on-site at the NSWC facility in Carderock, MD.
