Duties:

- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Document patient treatment plans and maintain accurate dental records
- Utilize dental practice management software (such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix) to schedule appointments, manage patient information, and process billing

Skills:

- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members
- Strong knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
- Proficiency in using dental software systems for appointment scheduling, record keeping, and billing
- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to infection control protocols
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dental office environment
