You will conduct purchase and sales transactions to increase margins, analyze complex energy transactions, and ensure favorable outcomes aligned with company risk management guidelines. A successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of Western electrical and natural gas grid supply and demand components, expert skills in analyzing energy market conditions, and the ability to translate broad market information into profitable trading strategies. Experience the thrill of high-stakes energy trading while contributing to our mission of delivering clean, reliable energy to our communities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDay-Ahead Trading Management - Manages a team of highly skilled power trading/scheduling staff responsible for mitigating risk and providing guidance to staff that are overseeing a generating portfolio in Real Time; provides technical management for the team, ensuring that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved; ensures that operational procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose. Oversees all commercial aspects of day-ahead power supply, which include wholesale power contract negotiation and administration, resource operations planning, portfolio risk management, trading and scheduling for power. Optimizes a $350 million and over net variable power cost budget; ensures that load is served and contractual obligations are met while net variable power costs are reduced for customers and shareholders.
