In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes identifying and implementing goals and objectives for facilities management, modernization, and/or sustainment; developing and managing government construction projects; Overseeing support services such as transportation, parking, supplies and services, food serves, etc.; managing complex building infrastructure systems to include such areas as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and safety; counselling and instructing employees on work and administrative matters.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

The Foundation Course (FC) is required for all supervisors and managers hired after 30 September 2006. The Basic Course (BC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position. The Intermediate Course (IC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position. The Advanced Course (AC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position.Mandatory Training Requirement - If the selectee has not completed a federal civilian supervisory development course within the past three years, he/she must complete the Army Civilian Supervisory Development Course within one year of appointment.In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
