MBA Consulting Services Inc. is seeking at Environmental Compliance Specialist.
The US Postal Service (USPS) operates one of the world's largest civilian government fleets consisting of over two-hundred thousand delivery vehicles, manages a robust processing and distribution network, along with hundreds of vehicle maintenance facilities, hundreds of processing and distribution facilities, and thousands of retail facilities. A major client of MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi), the USPS requires the technical expertise from MBA CSi to assist with the development, implementation, and oversight of environmental programs, operating and administrative policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Ability to provide technical and legal guidance on environmental protection issues and compliance problems to Headquarters, regional, and field managers.
Knowledge of federal laws and regulations related to environmental protection, including those that have an impact on business and industry.
Knowledge of cost analysis methods and procedures.
Ability to manage a communications program, including planning, organizing, and monitoring to disseminate information on environmental regulations, programs, and policies.
Ability to manage a program to review and interpret existing federal, state, and local environmental protection legislation, to develop reasonable alternatives, and to influence pending legislation.
Ability to manage a program audit system, including a data retrieval system, to monitor progress toward the achievement of environmental protection goals and to determine compliance of policies and practices with federal and local law.
Ability to prepare reports on the economic impact of environmental programs and on the compliance of policies and practices with federal and local laws.
Ability to give presentations to senior management on findings from impact studies and on other environmental protection issues.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with representatives of environmental regulatory agencies to exchange information, to ensure understanding of legislation, to monitor audit activities, and to negotiate reasonable compliance alternatives.
Experience/Education Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
At least six years of professional experience in environmental compliance.
Comprehensive knowledge of other environmental laws to include pertinent sections of the Resource Conversation Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, archaeology, noise impacts, and other environmental laws and requirements such as those related to environmental justice, and socio-economic and land use, environmental or condition and element impacts.
At least one of the following: (1) Bachelor or graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Sciences or Engineering; or (2) a graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Law or Business Administration combined with at least six years work experience in Environmental Compliance.
Experience planning, leading, and managing multiple environmental-related projects including: scoping the required work; developing detailed project work plans; identifying, tracking, and completing project schedules, deliverables, and budgets; developing business development strategies; preparing and delivering formal and informal presentations; meeting project milestones, and finalizing project close-out reports.
Experience with Postal Service, and/or delivery/logistics/transportation is preferred, but not required.
Additional Requirements:
Candidate must be able to sit, stand and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test.
