John Muir Specialty Medical Group is seeking a general GI physician to join our Bay Area team in highly desirable Walnut Creek, CA. You will be joining a well-respected group of general and therapeutic gastroenterologists in an organization with a long-standing presence and strong reputation in the community, state and nation. U.S. News & World Report has ranked John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek as one of the nation s top hospitals for nine straight years.

This position begins with a 1 2-year period as a salaried gastroenterologist position with clinic and ambulatory endoscopy and some hospital coverage. The compensation structure then moves to a base salary plus productivity and quality bonuses as well as opportunity to own shares in an independent ASC.

Opportunities exist to focus on IBD, motility, hepatology, cancer prevention and care and other subspecialty areas.

The group currently consists of 12 MDs and 3 ARNPs, extensive MA and RN support, 100% anesthesia supported procedures in state of the art facilities.

We have a network of more than 300 primary care physicians, more than 6,000 employees, medical centers in Concord, Walnut Creek and San Ramon as well as an outpatient GI presence at multiple sites in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. John Muir has partnerships with UCSF Health and Stanford Children s Health.

• Qualifications:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Graduate from an accredited school of medicine

• Must maintain current CPR and DEA registration

• Must possess or acquire a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California

• Excellent letters of reference

• Not a J-1 destination

It is adjacent to Berkeley, home of the University of California with an impressive variety of cultural and sports events along with world renowned restaurants and music venues, and Oakland which boasts a new and thriving tech sector, night life and entertainment destinations and all major league sports teams. Walnut Creek is 25 miles from downtown San Francisco which is easily accessible by car or BART train line. On the East side of the metro area, it is also a quick drive to Napa Wine country and the extensive mountain and wilderness areas of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite Valley.
