John Muir Specialty Medical Group is seeking a board-certified gastroenterologist to join our team in Walnut Creek, CA. As a GI hospitalist, you will work in a state-of-the-art hospital with a well-respected group of general and therapeutic gastroenterologists.
This position offers a unique opportunity to practice high-quality GI medicine in a community setting with close mentorship, independence, and excellent work-life balance. You will work with a GI ARNP, a therapeutic endoscopist, and an expert team of primary care hospitalists to consult on and perform procedures on inpatients.
The traditional GI position begins after 1-2 years and includes a balance of clinic and ambulatory endoscopy as well as some hospital coverage. Salary and benefits are generous with significant productivity incentive.

Walnut Creek is 25 miles from downtown San Francisco, which is easily accessible by car or BART train line.
On the East side of the metro area, it is also a quick drive to Napa Wine country and the extensive mountain and wilderness areas of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe, and Yosemite Valley.
Qualifications- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine
- Must maintain current CPR and DEA registration
- Must possess or acquire a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California
- Excellent letters of reference
