Services are performed by in-house professional staff or are provided through the management of architectural and engineering consultants. The department administers planning, design and construction for the three main campuses in Norman, Oklahoma City (Health Sciences Center), and Tulsa (the Schusterman Center). Prepares architectural and interior layouts as well as space layouts and drafting. Prepares furniture layouts and specifications, prepares orders and oversees installation of new furnishings. Coordinates signage and building branding.
  • Consults with other University staff and faculty to gather project scope and space requirements for new buildings or renovation projects. Determine finishes, fixture, furniture and equipment needs.
  • Prepare furniture layouts, specifications, and bid documents; develop budget; prepare orders; manage schedule; and oversee installation of new furnishings. Coordinate furniture layouts and specifications with project construction documents.
  • Selects interior finishes for new buildings or renovation projects. Finalize all selections and present to end users. Coordinates selections with project construction documents.
  • Oversee installation of furniture, fixtures, equipment and interior finishes. Perform final inspections and follow up with end users as well as end user moves.
  • Serves as the main contact for clients, vendors and contractors providing regular project progress reports and coordinating information.
  • Prepares architectural and interior layouts as well as space layouts and drafting.
  • Coordinates signage & building branding.
  • Adheres to established project procedures and standards; and comply with legally mandated requirements as they relate to building interiors. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


Job Location
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field, AND:
  • 18 months experience in Interior Design
Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree for a total of 66 months of related experienceSkills:
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Able to read, interpret, and evaluate construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to coordinate and organize goals and efforts of multiple constituencies
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Proficient in AutoCAD; Bluebeam
Certifications:
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Registration with Oklahoma Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers.Valid Driver s License
Advertised Physical Requirements:
